Knowing your sins are forgiven and you are ready for heaven is as simple as following these steps:

Admit you have sinned.

"If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us" (1 John 1:8).

Believe in Jesus.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life"(John 3:16).

Confess and forsake your sin.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).  

You need to be saved.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)

You cannot save yourself.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God- not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).

God loves you enough to provide salvation.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life"(John 3:16).

"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

By faith, believe Jesus and accept Him.

"And they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,and thy house'" (Acts 16:31).

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
